Mahere Ako Infinity Learning Maps
Click on this link to read about THE CREATION AND IMPACT OF INFINITY MAPS.
Infinity Learning Maps provide a practical approach for teachers and parents to support students in fun and energising ways to analyse and improve their learning.
The approach merges the three sciences of learning-how-to-learn, teaching and positive psychology.
Teachers support students to draw pictures of how they see their interactions surrounding a learning situation. Students then create data sets from the pictures and analyse their data to identify areas for improvement.

These activities assist students to sort out relevant ideas buzzing around in their minds to the interactive web surrounding their learning. Go to this link to get a basic idea about what we mean by the interactive web:
Research by Annan, Annan and Wootton (2016) found that the linked activities of drawing, analysing and making changes to current learning situations typically,
- lifts student confidence and achievement, and
- motivates teachers and parents to rethink their respective support roles.
Enjoy exploring the case studies in this page about the positive stories attached to the Infinity Learning Maps approach. There are positive stories about students improving their learning, teachers altering the practices, leaders strategising and parents supporting their children.

Option 3. One-off Presentations
There are at least three ways to engage Infinity facilitators in your conference/convention/learning summit/professional association:
- The first is for Infinity to introduce the concept of the mapping activities. This presentation will share the genesis of the approach and link the theory to the 16 practical activities in the Infinity Learning Maps e-Guide.
- The second is to share findings as you are progressing with the approach. This presentation will outline learning trends identified from the student-led data bases. It will show how to engage in some intentional teaching and learning about the relevant competencies associated with the trends.
- The third is for Infinity to outline the positive storying that can be created as an outcome of the mapping activities. More confident students will start to see themselves as positive learners. This presentation will explain how to support students to make their positive story explicit, for themselves first and foremost, and for their teachers, family and whānau.

WHAT DOES THE SECTOR SAY ABOUT US
Secondary School Leader: Awesome PD today. Inspired, we have plans for implementing strategies in place and a collaboration space planned for us to share progress.
Primary Principal: Inspiring – thinking about our kids who struggle with behaviour and how much the process of mapping how they learn and talking about it will be help and in some cases heal.
Teacher: The professional learning session was engaging, inspiring, practical and realistic about teaching. Got a lot out of what student agency is and direction on where we can go from here.
Teacher: A new approach to help develop self-confidence, the ability to engage and connect and raise the achievement. The session was excellent, start of our ‘Teacher Inquiry.’
Parent: Infinity Maps have given my son and us a sense of ownership and belonging.
Student: Infinity Maps helped me be a more active, connected learner.
